Background Summary

Marina is a Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto. For more than 14 years Marina provided individual and family therapy in counselling and accredited children’s mental health centres.
Often the families Marina supports are struggling with parent-child connection, conflict, difficult emotions and mental health issues. Marina supports individuals in areas of interpersonal challenges, coping with childhood trauma, life transitions and emotional dysregulation. Through an empathic therapeutic relationship Marina helps clients to integrate relational, emotional, cognitive and body-oriented experiences to resolve their concerns. She believes in the client’s inherent capacity to change and grow from the sense of safety and support gained in therapy. Marina helps clients transform their lives through meaningful progress tailored to their unique needs.
The treatment approaches Marina utilizes in her practice are Psychodynamic, Relational, Mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Marina is trained in Sensorimotor (body focused) and Dyadic Developmental (attachment focused) psychotherapy modalities. As well, Marina’s focuses with clients on enhancing emotional self-awareness, relationship development and her approach is trauma informed.
