TRAUMA THERAPIST
(Registered Social Worker/Registered Psychotherapist/Psychologist Position)

Life in Harmony Counselling Services is a privately operated counselling with multiple locations in Vaughan and Toronto West Village. We pride ourselves in our 18 plus years history in the community and always strive to provide the best quality of mental health care in the York Region and surrounding areas. As our clinic is expanding and growing we are currently looking for dedicated and qualified Registered Social Workers and Psychologists to join our team.

The ideal candidate will join our clinic as an independent private practitioner. We will provide the candidate with client referrals, administrative support, marketing, beautifully furnished office space, and most importantly an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being in private practice. We offer a collaborative environment with a team of other clinicians with whom to consult and receive support from. Benefits include targeted marketing to help fill up your caseload, supervision as requested, and a flexible schedule. This will also give practitioners a feel that they are a part of a community and organization while providing them with an opportunity to still operate independently and grow their practice.

Please note, due to COVID, many client sessions will likely take place over a virtual platform. However, there may be instances where the clinician may see the client in person. Please note, our clinic has a thorough safety protocol in place to accommodate in person clients.

Candidate must possess clinical training and/or demonstrated skills and experience in the following areas:

  •  Trauma/PTSD/ Neuropsychology/EMDR/IFS/Somatic Work/EFT

  •  Eating Disorders/Addiction

  •  Grief and loss

  •  Sexual abuse

  •  Provide culturally competent counselling to a diverse population

  •  keeping concise written clinical notes

  •  Excellent (listening, written and verbal) communication skills

  •  Good knowledge of community resources and supports

  •  Demonstrated ability to work in a team of independent practitioners

  •  Flexibility in hours of work, including working evenings and weekends

  •  Working knowledge of computer and ability to learn the clinic’s software

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Minimum of 5 years post-graduate clinical experience

  •  Masters of Social Work with the OCSWSSW or be a Registered Psychologist or Psychological Associate with CPO. Only candidates that are registered and in good standing with their respective colleges will be considered.

CHILD AND FAMILY THERAPIST

The ideal candidate will join our clinic as an independent private practitioner, in good standing with their respective college. Please note, due to COVID, there is an opportunity to work remotely for certain clients. However, given the age group, sometimes there will be a requirement for the clinician to working from the office to see the children in-person.

Candidate must possess clinical training and/or demonstrated skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Child Therapy (5-18 years old)

  • Play Therapy/Expressive Art Therapy

  • Family Therapy (Specializing in child-parent relationship from an attachment based framework) ∙ Divorce and Separation and Co-parenting

  • Couples Therapy

  • Comfort and expertise working with the adolescents

  • Provide culturally competent counselling to a diverse population

  • keeping concise written clinical notes

  • Excellent (listening, written and verbal) communication skills

  • Good knowledge of community resources and supports

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team of independent practitioners

  • Flexibility in hours of work, including working evenings and weekends
