Sandy comes from a Caribbean upbringing, and understands the stigmas around mental health and reaching out for support. Sandy aims to offer a safe, and non-judgemental space for you to talk about your struggles, and to help you work through them. Sandy brings over 10 years of clinical experience working as a social worker with child, youth, and families. Sandy has provided support around parenting challenges, relationship challenges, family conflict, self-esteem issues, issues around mental health and substance use, and domestic violence. Sandy also bring experience in working with individuals who have experience child abuse and neglect. Sandy's works from an Anti-Racist and Anti-Oppressive (ARAO) lens, and uses an eclectic approach when working with individuals.

Background Summary
Sandy brings over 10 years of clinical experience working as a social worker with child, youth, and families. Sandy has provided support around parenting challenges, relationship challenges, family conflict, self-esteem issues, issues around mental health and substance use, and domestic violence. Sandy also bring experience in working with individuals who have experience child abuse and neglect. Sandy's works from an Anti-Racist and Anti-Oppressive (ARAO) lens, and uses an eclectic approach when working with individuals. Sandy draws features from various therapeutic modalities including CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strength Based Therapy, to help individuals identify and work through challenges in their lives. Sandy believes in empowering individual's by helping them recognize their inner strengths, because "you are the expert in your life". Sandy comes from a Caribbean upbringing, and understands the stigmas around mental health and reaching out for support. Sandy aims to offer a safe, and non-judgemental space for you to talk about your struggles, and to help you work through them. Sandy holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University (formally known as Ryerson), and a Master of Social Work from Windsor University. Sandy is a Registered Social Worker in good standing.
