Background Summary
Meri is a registered social worker offering individual, couples and family counselling. Her career has included working in both community agencies and hospital settings, with a focus on mental health for the past 25 years.
Her training and experience has been providing counselling related to a wide variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions and many other of life’s struggles. Counselling is directed to achieve an understanding of these concerns and identifying changes you can make that lead to mental wellbeing and personal growth. Meri's treatment approaches includes both the interpersonal and cognitive areas. Meri received her Bachelor of Social work from Ryerson in 1982 and a Master’s in Social Work in 1985 from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario College of Certified Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Meri has three cats whose different personalities can be challenging. She recently built a “catio” for them to enjoy the outdoors.
