Alex is a Registered Psychotherapist who has been working in the field of mental health with children, adolescents, adults, and families for over 17 years. She is described by colleagues and clients as a passionate, empathic, and a caring therapist who truly loves her work.
She has an MA in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology and is a member of the OAMHP (Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals) and the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). Aside from her private practice work, she has been working in children and family mental health centres for 17 years as a child/youth, family, parent, and group clinician.
Her areas of interest and expertise include depression, anxiety, anger management, stress management, dysregulation, parent support, relationships, and adolescence. She takes an eclectic approach in therapy and incorporates various approaches in her work. She has trained in CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy), family therapy, emotion focused therapy, attachment focused family therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
